Pachyrhinosaurus lakustai

Это скот - Пахиринозавр (Pachyrhinosaurus lakustai, «Толстоносый ящер»), род динозавров-цератопсов, обитавший в позднем меловом периоде в Северной Америке. Иначе из своего аналогичностей, у Пахиринозавра не были самые настоящие рога над мордой, но странное уплотняемое строение в закругленном форме, вероятно употреблённое для ввидовых боёв. Наоборот, у ключицы выдвигающой на плечах были два толстого заострённого конца согнутого на краю, а вдоль средней линии был друг "рог" склоняющийся к верху. По мнению некоторых палеонтологов, в том толстом "роге" мог быть кератин, скорее чем кости.



This big beast is a Pachyrhinosaurus (Pachyrhinosaurus lakustai, «thick-nosed lizard»), a dinosaur belonging to family Ceratopsidae, who lived in the Late Cretaceous period of North America. Differently from his own kind, the Pachyrhinosaurus hadn't exactly a horn on his muzzle, but a strange round-shaped, thick structure, probably used for intraspecific fights. The collarbone that stuck out on his neck, instead, had two curved spikes on the edge, while along middle line there was another "horn" tended upwards. According to some paleontologists, in that squat "horn" could be keratin, rather than bones.



Questo bestione è un Pachirinosauro (Pachyrhinosaurus lakustai, «lucertola dal naso spesso»), un dinosauro della famiglia dei Ceratopsidi, vissuto durante il Tardo Cretacico in Nord America. Diversamente dai suoi simili, il Pachirinosauro non aveva un vero e proprio corno sul muso, ma una strana struttura ispessita dalla forma arrotondata, probabilmente usata nei combattimenti intraspecifici. Il collare osseo che sporgeva sul collo, invece, aveva due spuntoni ricurvi sul margine, mentre lungo la linea mediana vi era un altro "corno" tendente verso l'alto. Secondo alcuni paleontologi, in quel "corno" tozzo poteva esserci della cheratina, piuttosto che ossa.
